I recently returned from a wonderful adventure at Giraween National Park in Queenslands Granite Belt. Giraween is a truly magical place where crazy giant rocks, wonderful creatures and many species of beautiful wild flowers and native tree abound! Below is a selection of some of my favourite images from the trip. If you hover your cursor over each image it will give you further info about the photo or click to see the bigger image with captions.

On a recent break my fella and I took our Kayak out onto the Brunswick River for the day. While paddling around exploring the river and its tributary's we happened upon some beautiful birds. Above is an Osprey who I managed to capture taking flight. Below is a selection of other birds I managed to photograph, including Cormorants, Egrets and a Pelican. One of the sweetest surprises of all was accidentally capturing this beautiful Azure Kingfisher. We were down the end of a tributary keeping our eyes peeled when I started to photograph this pretty log protruding from the water. As we drew closer a bright blue shape caught my eye - the Kingfisher!
It is always such a thrill for me to see one of our local birds of prey - The Brahminy Kite. This one lives in the Casurina trees amongst the dunes at Wooyong, our local beach, and I sometimes catch sight of him when I take our dog for a walk. When I see him he is usually cruising up and down keeping his eyes open for dead fish or crabs that have been washed up on shore. Such a beautiful creature don't you think?
I was lucky enough to get the opportunity to photograph the Blood Moon which occurred on the 15th April this year. I took all three images over the course of about 40 mins so you can see how the moon changed from the deep pink at the peak of the eclipse back to its usual grey/white as the Earth progressively moved from between the sun and the moon. Nature truly is amazing!
